chimera climbing for kids

kids bouldering

Kids are very welcome at Chimera Canterbury - we love introducing the sport of climbing to the next generation. They do have to be at least five though before they can climb.

Bouldering is a fantastic thing to do with the kids on a rainy day, and builds many skills such as co-ordination, flexibility and problem solving. And given it is now in the Olympics, bring your child along today and who knows where their journey might lead...

Neither the adults or kids need to have been before, but you do need to have both pre-registered online and then booked your slots via TopLogger. You will be asked to watch a short safety video when you arrive and can ask the friendly staff any questions you might have.

One climbing adult can currently supervise one child on the mats. The adult does not need to have previous climbing experience to participate and supervise. Every individual in the climbing areas must pay their own entry.

All children under the age of 16 need to be supervised unless previously signed off to climb unsupervised by a Chimera Staff Member.

BOULDERING IS NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH SOFT PLAY - WHICH IS WHY ALL CHILDREN AGED 15 AND UNDER NEED TO BE SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES.

THE ADULT MUST REMAIN ON THE MATS WITH THE CHILD AT ALL TIMES

ONE ADULT CAN SUPERVISE ONE CHILD AT A TIME. BOTH ADULT AND CHILD NEED TO PAY FOR ENTRY

OUR LOWER AGE LIMIT TO CLIMB IS 5 YEARS OLD. UNDER 12’S CAN CLIMB UNTIL 6PM IN THE WEEK AND 2PM AT WEEKENDS
