Kids are very welcome at Chimera Canterbury - we love introducing the sport of climbing to the next generation. They do have to be at least five though before they can climb.
Bouldering is a fantastic thing to do with the kids on a rainy day, and builds many skills such as co-ordination, flexibility and problem solving. And given it is now in the Olympics, bring your child along today and who knows where their journey might lead...
Neither the adults or kids need to have been before, but you do need to have both pre-registered online. You will be asked to watch a short safety video when you arrive and can ask the friendly staff any questions you might have.
One climbing adult can currently supervise one child on the mats. If the adult is happy not to climb, then they can supervise two children. The adult does not need to have previous climbing experience to participate and supervise.
All children under the age of 16 need to be supervised unless previously signed off to climb unsupervised by a Chimera Staff Member.
